Use Badges to Reinforce Trust & Value

Customers look for quick reassurance before making a purchase. If they don’t see clear trust signals, they may hesitate or leave to find a more "credible" competitor.

Why?

Badges instantly communicate trust and key selling points. Use them to highlight fast shipping, money-back guarantees, top ratings, security certifications, or unique product benefits.

Content
  • Your conversion rate is below 2.5% or you're seeing high bounce rates (above 60%) on your homepage
  • Analytics show users spending less than 15 seconds on product pages before leaving
  • You're running paid traffic but seeing poor conversion from cold visitors who don't know your brand
  • Your store has fewer than 100 reviews or you're a newer brand competing against established players
  • You can edit your Shopify theme or have basic HTML/CSS access to add elements

Start by selecting 3-4 relevant badges that match your strongest value propositions. Don't overwhelm - focus on your most compelling trust signals.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Customize
  2. Add a new section called "Trust Badges" directly below your hero section on the homepage
  3. Create badges at 120px x 60px minimum for desktop, ensuring they're readable at 80px x 40px for mobile
  4. Use a 4-column layout on desktop, 2-column on mobile with 20px spacing between badges
  5. Position badges using this CSS structure:

Focus on these high-impact badges: free shipping, money-back guarantee, secure checkout, and customer rating. Use contrasting colors (dark badges on light backgrounds) and ensure all badges link to relevant pages explaining the benefits.
