Highlight a Punchy Testimonial if Reviews Are Limited

If you don’t have a high volume of reviews yet, visitors might question your product’s credibility. But even a single, well-crafted testimonial can provide the social proof needed to reassure potential buyers.

Why?

A strong, specific testimonial—especially one that highlights a transformational result or key benefit—can be just as powerful as multiple reviews. Feature it prominently to establish trust.

  • Your product pages have fewer than 15-20 reviews, making visitors question credibility
  • Homepage bounce rate is above 60% and time on page is under 45 seconds
  • You have at least one detailed, results-focused customer testimonial with specific outcomes
  • Your Shopify store gets 1,000+ monthly visitors but conversion rate is below 2%
  • Analytics show visitors aren't scrolling past your hero section or engaging with product pages

Transform your most compelling testimonial into homepage social proof that builds immediate trust.

  1. Select Your Best Testimonial: Choose one with specific results, transformation details, or measurable outcomes. Avoid generic "great product" reviews.
  2. Position on Homepage: Place in your hero section or immediately below it. In Shopify's theme customizer, add a "Testimonial" section between your hero banner and product showcase.
  3. Design Specifications: Use 18-22px font size, center-align text, and include customer photo (120x120px minimum). Add quotation marks and customer name with location or title.
  4. Shopify Implementation: Navigate to Online Store → Themes → Customize. Add a custom HTML section with this structure:
