Clearly List Product Specs & Dimensions

When users don't have clear product specifications—like size, weight, materials, or compatibility—they're forced to guess. This can lead to hesitation, abandoned carts, or worse, disappointed customers and returns.

Why?

Eliminate guesswork by providing a well-organized specs section with all key details. Use bullet points, tables, or icons to make it easy to scan. When users have all the information upfront, they can make confident, informed buying decisions.

Create a dedicated specifications section that appears prominently on every product page, positioned between your product description and reviews.

  1. Shopify Setup: Navigate to your product template file (sections/product-form.liquid) and add a specifications section using metafields or custom fields. Create metafields for dimensions, weight, materials, and compatibility in Settings > Metafields.
  2. Design Specifications: Use a two-column table format with 16px font size, alternating row colors (#f9f9f9 and white), and 12px padding. Ensure minimum 44px touch targets for mobile.
  3. Content Structure: Include essential specs like dimensions (L×W×H), weight, materials, care instructions, and compatibility. Use consistent units (inches or cm) and format numbers clearly.
