Clearly Communicate Your Competitive Edge

If your product is in a competitive niche, users will compare you to alternatives. If you don't clearly state why you're the better choice, they may leave for a competitor that does.

Why?

Be upfront about what sets you apart—superior quality, better pricing, unique features, sustainability, or customer service. A dedicated "Why Choose Us?" section ensures visitors immediately understand your advantage, reducing hesitation and increasing conversions.

  • Your landing page conversion rate is below 3% and you're in a competitive market with 5+ similar brands
  • Analytics show high bounce rates (above 60%) but decent time on page (2+ minutes), indicating comparison shopping behavior
  • You're running paid ads where visitors likely researched competitors before clicking through to your store
  • Your average order value is over $75 where purchase decisions involve more consideration and research
  • You have clear differentiators but customer surveys show confusion about what makes you unique

Create a prominent "Why Choose Us?" section within the first screen view of your landing page, positioned between your hero section and product showcase.

  1. Shopify Implementation: In your theme editor, add a custom section with 3-4 benefit columns. Use a background color that contrasts with your main theme (light gray or subtle brand color)
  2. Content Structure: Lead with a clear headline like "Why 10,000+ Customers Choose [Brand Name]" followed by 3-4 key differentiators. Each point should include an icon, bold headline (20-24px), and 2-3 sentence explanation
  3. Technical Specs: Section should span full width, with 300px minimum height on desktop. Use 24px padding between elements and ensure mobile stacks vertically with 16px spacing
  4. Positioning Strategy: Focus on concrete, verifiable advantages like "30-day longer warranty," "sustainably sourced materials," or "24-hour customer support response time" rather than generic claims
  5. Timeline: Implementation takes 2-3 hours including copywriting and basic design customization
  • Landing page conversion rate: Expect 0.3-0.8% improvement within 2-3 weeks of implementation
  • Time on page increase: Look for 10-20% increase in average session duration as visitors spend more time understanding your value
  • Scroll depth: Track engagement with your competitive advantages section using Google Analytics events
  • Customer feedback: Monitor post-purchase surveys for decreased mentions of "almost bought from competitor" responses
  • AVOID: Using vague claims like "best quality" or "great service" without specific proof points or metrics. BEST PRACTICE: Include specific numbers, certifications, or comparative advantages
